The Alhambra – A Virtual Walking Tour

To understand the Alhambra you need to look at its history, location and surroundings.
It is situated on the hill of Sabika, overlooking the city of Granada. Alhambra means, literately, “The Red” and at its height in the 13th and 14th centuries, it was the royal city of the Nasrid kingdom, the last Muslim kingdom of Spain. At its height, as many as 40,000 people lived and worked in the Alhambra.
This virtual tour is comprised of 25 spherical panoramic photographs that place you inside the image, as if you were standing in the place where the photo was made. Use your mouse to pan around each photo. Use you Ctrl key to zoom out, and your shift key to zoom in on details. There are also control buttons on the screen.
